All ladies attention please! Life is full of pleasures but sometimes hot weather comes with some few challenges. Women who enjoy having makeup on find summer to be one big challenge because no one reminds them to make some adjustments because the weather has changed as well. Some secrets you will wish you knew earlier.
9 tips to keep yourself bright and light during hot weather
Summertime comes with so much humidity and unbearable heat but you don’t have to have your makeup spill all over you. Following below are super tips that will make the whole difference you have been missing over the years.
1) Begin with the elementary:
The elementary when it comes to your beauty is basically the primer you may want to ignore. You need to have it just after the moisturizer and before the real stuff you want to put on. This provides you with a foundation for anything else you are going to put on. It is usually light and will ensure your make up stays in place all day long. You cannot control the temperatures out there, but a good primer will keep your makeup in place even in the sizzling heat of the hottest day.
2) Do it with a feather’s touch
As the days get hotter you automatically switch to lighter clothing so as to comfortable. This usually goes without saying. The same principle should apply as you dress up your face daily. You may have to replace your tinted moisturizer with foundation for starters as the formula is much lighter on your skin and will not easily turn to jelly on your face at the peak of the heat. But if there are spots on your face where the tinted moisturizer must come go in, a brushing powder foundation will give you the coverage you need pretty well, these are places with blemishes or some areas with a slight discoloration.
3) Be realistic with your bronze
Nothing makes you look brighter than a nicely done bronzer that adds some life to your skin. Best results are obtained when you apply your bronzer to the high points of your face that are hit directly by the sun such as your chin, nose, cheekbones and forehead. You can easily get a powdered bronzer with in several shades that can give you some outstanding look that almost resemble your own natural complexion. Who wants to look like a scarecrow with a faked appearance? As for your brush get something with long loose fluffy bristles that will leave just enough of the powder on your face. For those who have short hair or enjoy wearing pony-tails a little bronzer on your ear lobes and neck is not a bad idea.
4) A bubbly color will do
To have that youthful skin glow you need to do some very vibrant colors because this is summer. Just like most other accessories are most likely flowery lively colors will brighten up your face throughout the day. You may just want to experiment with a small portion of your face especially if you are one of those ladies who enjoy neutral things. A good place to begin with that gives you a clear picture is the apples of your cheeks.
5) Eliminate that unsightly shine
You need to walk with some blotting paper in your purse together with the rest of your paraphernalia as they are perfect in clearing those shines that sometimes send the wrong messages. The good news is that they do not cost you a fortune so you just pull it out touch and you are on the move. Do not spice up your makeup before you blot first after which you can put some pressed powder with a light glow. This helps you eliminate the shine but still leaves you looking alive ad vibrant in these hot months.
6) Drop thick lipsticks momentarily
This is the time that you could adjust to some light lip colors or some soft lip balm if you cannot skip it all together. But this doesn’t mean that you simply look like some building under construction by going too simple. You may want to try some tinted lip balms which give you a soft light color and some even have s good degree of SPF to protect you from the UV rays of the sun.
7) Ensure your makeup lasts the day
Many women have realized using eye cream on their lids during hot weather easily breaks down their makeup. An eye primer is a good choice for such time as these, as it reduces tucking and forms a base for the shadow to hold on and last longer. Powders are generally known to last longer but you may need to have some cream as a base to give you the confidence it will last you the whole day. After applying your regular pencil or cream, you can conclude with a small angled brush to push down some dark shadow over the liner to keep it in place for longer.
8 ) Try to do some waterproofing
This is the perfect time to try waterproofing your mascaras. Today the manufacturers have come up with some stuff that is much better than anything that could have disappointed you in the past and these ones last much longer. Look for some water proof versions to apply on the tips of your lashes over the everyday mascara to enhance its ability to stick with you longer.
9) Try translucent colors
Those heavy and deep colors are good but then during hot days they may look a little overdone. Let the color you choose be something that lightens you up and there are many translucent versions you can select from. To give you some extra definition you may want to use a lip liner pre-application going for a very light shade to give you the light feeling or even go for something that is just invisible. This gives you a light film that stops the color from bleeding. Translucent colors are soft and you will rarely go wrong with them at any given time.
