From the word go we have always wanted to mention that wrinkles are not necessarily disease or a skin condition, but simply put it is a natural result of the aging process that every individual has to go through as time progresses. And because this is not a disease it is simply inevitable and there is no cure for the same. The cosmetic industry makes so much fuss about their appearance and in the process they create a market for their merchandise. And for this reason the market today is flooded with products that can help with their management. The important thing would be to know exactly why they appear when they do.

It is a matter of fact that all of us will have to go through the natural process that we call aging even though there are those of us who would have wanted to have things otherwise. And because this is not a matter of choice it would be only prudent if we simply prepared ourselves for what age is likely to bring as a package to us.  Although it is important to note that there can be some factors, natural and others of lifestyle that can actually speed up the aging process that affects the condition of your skin. Some of those factors include but are not limited to: sun damage, smoking, heredity, skin type, stress and general carelessness in taking care of your skin.

One of the most important things you would do well to know is the anatomy of your skin in order to take good care of it. Your skin has three specific layers that make it up namely: the dermis- the outermost; the epidermis – the middle layer, the subcutaneous – the innermost layer. The dermis is made up of some elastin fibers that are elastic and help to maintain a firm and nice looking skin.  It produces collagen, a protein that helps the body to keep your skin moist and able to stretch protecting your skin from the process that causes wrinkles to your skin.

With the advancement of age the body systems begin slowing down and those systems that are involved with repair begin to play catching up most of the time. One of the most affected parts of the body is the skin. The dermis can no longer cope and therefore loses its ability to moisturize the skin. This is because the collagen proteins and elastin are now in short supply and the end result is the skin will begin sagging, cracking, thinning and this will inevitably lead to the formation of wrinkles.

However, one of the greatest things that determines when wrinkles is the body chemistry of each and every individual. It is for this reason that some people have them at the age of 40 whereas others will not have a trace even at the age of 65, irrespective of the way they take care of their bodies. Some of the other contributing factors are like personal hygiene, genetics, smoking or lack of it and the results of exposure to the sun. For some other people it is simply a matter of genetics because they could have inherited agene that brings them quite early in their lives.

When everything is constant the appearance of wrinkles should not be such a big deal but then you will remember in our generation image is matter of such great consequences. Opportunities are lost and fond courtesy of how one looks like and therefore anything you do to boost your physical appearance actually determines your survival. One of the greatest things that can help is of course taking your tie to learn lifestyle choices that can make the whole lot of a difference as far as wrinkle formation is concerned. We may as well discover that we cannot eliminate them completely, there seems to be enough that we can do to at least slow them down, especially to do with the anatomy of your skin.
